  Me and my family stayed here while visiting New York. The hotel itself was great. The staff? We check in. We were greeted and the check-in process was smooth until the clerks and bellman answered some ?? We had. Since I was new to New York, the clerks asked me if I wanted to take a bus tour. We respectfully responded that we would be on foot after getting dropped off at the bus terminal. We asked if the Staten Island Ferry was running. They all looked at us with Poker Faces and said “NO”. That was strange, because the website stated yes. So we trusted these fine folks and changed our plans and drove to the Statue of Liberty Ferry which was way more expensive that the Staten Island Ferry. When we were at the ferry, we asked one of the park rangers if the Staten Island Ferry was running. He stated yes while directing our attention to the large orange ferry going by. Wait a minute. We asked the hotel staff about this. Now I get it totally. We had taken away a commission from the hotel staff by rejecting the tour offer. They respond by lying to us. Really? Really? That is not only wrong, but that is 100% evil. They are the hotels representatives. I would fire them on the spot. Hotel management must not be in collusion with them. They obviously don’t give a damn about losing business.

  Price was very good,. Overall I would say value is pretty good. A couple things I didn't like was the room seem dated. Example The microwave itself was from 1998. The mini fridge did not have a freezer compartment either.

  Currently sitting on couch in the hotel as I write this, this is not all its cracked up to be. At first glance things seemed OK. After a closer look, we found an older run down hotel with just a fresh coat of paint. The bathroom was disgusting, the ceiling looked like it was about to fall down. The carpet is dingy. And then the wake up to absolutely no hot water... Called the front desk, they sent up a maintenance guy he took the shower apart, said he had to check the boiler maybe out of hot water cause everyone is showering in morning. Seriously? This hotel might be 1/2 vacant and your out of hot water? The pool room and fitness room was less then good. A storage room with a treadmill and eliptical. We were going to extend our stay another night. But we will pass. Honestly just want some hot water so we can shower and get the hell out of here..

  Nice older hotel that's been updated. Right on the bus route to go into NYC. Free hot breakfast every morning, free parking. Front desk clerk offered us a free upgrade to a room with a view of the NYC skyline!
