  For a two star hotel it wasn't horrible, our first room had broken lights and the maintenance guy was there within minutes of the call to fix it. Then we realized the toilet didn't flush and maintenance had left for the day, so they switched our room with no issues. One of the elevators was broken for our entire five day stay, which meant walking all the way around the building every time since we were on the fourth floor. The location is as central as everything else in Brandon, which is "twenty minutes away from everywhere" except not because the traffic on that whole road is a nightmare all the time. There's a Starbucks and a Dollar Tree in a walking distance shopping center, so skip the ridiculously priced snacks in their pantry and load up there.

  The most ghetto LA Quinta I've ever stayed in. My family and I travel very often and stay in LA Quinta exclusively and this one by far is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The hot tub is ice cold, the only time coffee is offered is the morning, and it tastes old and not hot. The level of garbage in and around the parking lot us absolutely disgusting. They close the pool area way earlier than advertised, 1 night it's closed At 6pm.. the next night it's still open at midnight. The hallways seem to constantly reek of Marijuana smoke, and when reported to staff, nothing is done about it. Over all I found this hotel to be very dirty, and managed by people who do not care about cleanliness or hospitality . Do yourself a favor and book any other LA Quinta near by, this one is just not up to par and extremely unsatisfactory.

  Upon arriving the hotel staff is very polite and the hotel seems very clean. On our first night, 2 roaches crawled across the TV screen trying to get their 5 minutes of fame. (Made me wary to fall asleep). Stayed a second night (because we were right in the middle of moving). While enjoying our dinner at the table, a roach lost its battle with gravity, nearly missing our salad plate. He OR she was equally as stunned as their little roach legs were flailing around like a turtle stuck on its back trying to salvage what’s left of their dignity. The breakfast was ok. Eggs are the artificial just-add-water kind, and on the rubbery side, the oatmeal was 90% water , 10% oatmeal. The waffle was good. For over $200 a night, I expected to be able to enjoy a good nights sleep without the fear of something crawling on me. If it weren’t for the many unexpected and unwelcome guests, I’d rate this establishment much higher.

  I really wanted to like this place because it's convenient to PCHA, pet friendly, and not too expensive. Sadly, the common areas are filthy... floors look like they are never cleaned or vacuumed. Our rooms were clean, but the towel in my bathroom had a huge tear and parts of it were missing. Staff was polite. I think this LA Quinta has a lot of corporate clients and doesn't need to work hard. It's a shame... could be a great place

  DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT A COOL ROOM TO SLEEP IN!! I started to not post this review but I am SICK of hotels not allowing you to control your own AC! Because what good is a hotel room to you when you go out of town if you can’t sleep when you’re there!?! The amount of money charged for hotel rooms these days is PLENTY ENOUGH TO PAY FOR ANY ELECTRICITY USED WHILE THERE!! This is such a bogus practice! Allowing you to change the numbers on the unit is NOT the same as controlling it! I was here this weekend for two nights with my husband & our AC read 60 degrees & stayed off almost the ENTIRE night & there’s no way possible it stayed at 60 degrees in that room in that Florida heat & not needing to come back on! I am sick of it! I was there two nights & didn’t sleep at all! At home, my AC will not go off the entire night if I have it on 64! You can’t tell me the room here this weekend stayed at 60 the entire night without the AC running nonstop! No way! I didn’t sleep for two nights! I am sick of paying for hotel rooms I can’t sleep in because of this AC issue! Start allowing your guests to keep on the AC while they sleep!! Also, the breakfast was so bad! The eggs were powdered eggs, sausages tasted cheap, as well as the orange juice & yogurt, only thing good was the bananas. Our room keys barely worked as well. We had to keep pulling & pushing the door to get the room keys to work. I am reading your responses to other guests as well who have left low scores on here & they’re all passive aggressive responses. You won’t see my name listed because I am not the one who booked the room. So don’t come on here saying “we have no record of you staying here” like you did to other people who left bad reviews because that doesn’t mean anything. I stayed here this weekend & staying is all I did because I couldn’t breathe the entire night so I sure didn’t sleep!
