::It’s a clean gym that has everything I need to workout and make progress. But, the staff is just plain rude. At least say hello to people when they walk in. That has always been a pet peeve of mine. Quit starring at your phone and actually interact with your members. They don’t care obviously, but I bet they would have more personal training business if they seemed approachable. I’m finally reviewing because the childcare worker today was exceptionally rude. If I walk in to drop my son off, say hello and don’t just stare at your computer. Same when I went to pick him up — he was asking for her help with the button on his pants and she was ignoring him (no other kids in there). I asked her a question and she proceeded to just nod as if I was inconveniencing her. I went to complain but was kinda just blown off. Might be time to cancel my membership. Management needs to have a “how to be friendly 101” class. To me it’s more appealing to have a so-so gym (equipment) with nice and helpful staff rather than the reserve with their rude workers.

::The best part about this LA Fitness is the location. It is in a very convenient spot if you work downtown and want to workout before work or during lunch. The service is really good, but the quality of the equipment is below par. The first treadmill I got on was broken, and their free weights were not a consistent brand. It looked like they just took the hand-me-downs from other gyms. It would not be my place of choice to workout.

::I love this place! I have seen Raj for personal training for almost a year and it’s a blast. He’s great with our workout plans and makes us sweat without being miserable! Very flexible. It did take a couple of months to get into a groove as far as a set time slot but it works perfectly now! He’s the best and I love the support I get from the other trainers while we work out.

::We were sold an over-priced membership/personal trainer package and the manager is unwilling to let us make any adjustments. It was costing $580 a month for just two people. They require a 24 hour notice from us to cancel PT, but they can cancel anytime on us without a required notice. The PT staff is very inflexible, has limited time slots, and they seldom work the weekends. The manager Brett has zero customer service skills. We’re done with them. There are other gyms that are much more affordable and have higher ratings.

::Don't get scammed here! Background: A couple weeks ago I stopped by this location and discussed membership opportunities with Assistant General Manager James Johnson. He told me to return on a Sunday and I could join month-to-month for $35 with no initiation fees. Today is Sunday, December 3rd and Counselor Val Hernandez met me at the entry counter. He filled out a paper application form for a month-to-month membership for $34.99 per month (plus tax) and told me I’d have to pay for the first and last month today. But then Manager James Johnson appeared, signed Val Hernandez into his computer system, and Val told me we needed to complete the sign-up online. Val Hernandez told me very specifically the online contract is exactly the same as the paper contract that I’d just read. Partway through signing the online form, I realized it was for a 6-month contract, and not month-to-month. I pointed out this error and asked him to change it to the one we’d agreed upon. He informed me that he couldn’t. Assistant General Manager James Johnson then informed me that the month-to-month membership was not available in December—a direct contrast to everything I’d already been told by Val Hernandez. I then asked both of them to cancel my pending membership and they refused, stating that only Manager “Alex” could do that, and he is not available until Monday. I called Discover Card and they informed me that an authorization for a charge at L.A. Fitness was already in their system but I couldn’t dispute it until it posts in 10 days. They advised me to request a refund directly from LA Fitness, which I did, and was refused by James Johnson who repeated that only the missing person named Alex could do that. Summary: L.A. Fitness (Fort Worth location) is deliberately dishonest. They don't deserve anybody's business.
