Great short hike. You can choose a variety of homes depending on your mood, and all offer a great experience. We choose this one because it was short, and we could see the remains of a few old buildings. Next time we'r are looking at sound the short loop (2-3 miles). Will work ourselves up to the long loop.

Patrick O’Leary is the guy who name it, Photo it, and put it on google maps. So I’m thankful, without him I would never have found this place. He’s also on instagram (patrick_oleary_art. )

Use waterproof footwear because there are some unavoidable water crossings. The trail is easy. There are some interesting structures along this trail, which are a bonus to the natural scenery.

Neat ruins and some huge tulip poplars. Also lots of invasive plants though. Good trail for little kids except be careful around the ruins.

Cool place to go hiking . Fun fact One of the great collections of ruins in the Hudson Valley lies on publicly-accessible land in Putnam County. Although the layout of property is well-known to hikers, the early history of the estate is nearly unknown to historians. In 1917, Edward Joel Cornish and his wife Selina Bliss Carter Cornish acquired 650 acres (which they called Northgate) in Cold Spring from a New York City diamond merchant named Sigmund Stern, who built the estate over the previous decade.
