::"The Beauty of My Village" is again represented by the breathtakingly beautiful and pristine, historic Dale Cemetery. On June 3rd 2018 we celebrated with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for "The Dale Cemetery Heritage Trail". The trail is a walk through Ossining history going back to the mid 1700s. A project of the Ossining Historic Cemeteries Conservancy made possible by a generous Legislative Initiative Grant through the office of New York State Senator David Carlucci and administered through the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. You will be able to find more information at the Columbia University Archives and Ossining Historical Society Museum. There are two entrances to the cemetary one on Marble Place the other on Claremont Road.

::Painted by Robert Havell Jr.(1793-1878) prolific painter of wildlife studies, his landscape work is nearly entirely of the Hudson River and Valley. These works generally showed mankind at home in the bounteous land. This view is most remarkable for the sky, which brings to mind the description by Washington Irving of a Hudson twilight: “But when the sun sunk amid a flood of glory in the west, mantling the heavens and the earth with a thousand gorgeous dyes, then all was calm, and silent, and magnificent”
