  I have been a loyal King Kullen shopper for over 40 years. This past Sunday was the last time I will ever step foot in a King Kullen supermarket. The level of insults and embarrassment I experienced should never happen, yet it did. I shopped @ the Wantagh location for 20 years, then when I moved to Lindenhurst, I shopped @ the Lindenhurst location for over 23 years. Sunday morning I had 18 items in my cart. I ALWAYS use the self-service checkout when leaving because I like to pack my own bags, and don't want any of my purchases touching the dirty conveyor belts at this location. Upon beginning my checkout, after I had started, the "attendant" at the self-service very loudly chastised me for having over the 15 item limit. Please note: this was a Sunday morning and there was no line in the store. So, after starting my checkout the nasty attendant tells me I need to void out what I have already started and go to a cashier/register. When I objected, she decided she wanted the whole store to know that I was checking out with 18 items in a 15 item line. Oh by the way: There are no signs saying anything about a 15 item limit at the self-service checkout. The attendant forces me to go to the cashier checkout where the cashier proceeded to throw all of my purchases into 2 bags. My "soft goods" were at the bottom with 2 liter bottles of soda thrown on top. (Exactly the reason why I prefer to bag my own purchases). I arrived home to approx. $ 30.00 worth of purchases crushed and unusable. I ask for the manager. After a 10 minute wait, the manager comes by. I ask him to please point out to me where it says a 15 item limit in the self-service checkout and he couldn't do that because there was none. The level of insults and embarrassment was too much for me to take, so I finished my purchases and left the store for the last time. I will NEVER go back into a King Kullen ever again. There are too many other places to shop for me to put up with this type of treatment from the workers at this store. This attendant should be fired and never work in a customer service position ever again. She made up a limit of 15 items for some reason which I was never explained. I sent a message to King Kullen corporate with no response. Don't bother sending them a message because they WILL ignore you. They don't care about customers and just take loyal customers for granted. Within 5 miles of me there are 10 supermarkets that will value my business. It is this type of customer service that turns off customers for buying from companies. They lost my business after over 40 years of shopping there.

  It is awful. The employees do not help when needed, especially the man who is at the entrance looking how we waste time in the self-checkout.

  Some employees at this store is very races and rude, I went to this store and ask the fat lady always working at self check out to help with  ONE of the code I don't know and I said thank you after I start walking out the store she said very loud SOME CUSTOMER COME IN THIS STORE IS VERY LAZY, I went to customer service and tell them what she said and the Manger tell the lady working at customer service to go talk to her, however later in the day I went back to grab a milk and I also went to customer service to purchase 2 lotteries tickets and her vibes was rude (same lady at customer service the Manger ask to go talk to the lady working at self check out) so I said to her I won't get anything out of this for lying about lady, that you can go back and check the camera, and she was like the lady is not races and she said she didn't say that (LIKE WHAT I WILL GET FROM THIS ) I got upset because when I come  back home my husband said he  had the same experience with the fat lady. I know this is a small matter but the way the treat the situation got me upset , I always go to that store but that is not how you treat customers

  Nice, clean store and helpful employees. Some of their prices are a bit high. Their meat selection is always wonderful and the butcher is very knowledgeable. With bbq season approaching I will be shopping there more often. The bakery is very good as well. Never a disappointment!
