  I have been looking for a way to workout besides the boring gym and at my age contact sports are a bit too risky...then i found this...HMK Kendo...and i have to say that i m enjoying and cant wait to go to my next class. What i really like about the dojo...is the sense of tradition, respect, and fitness that you get from every session. You not only learn forms properly but they instill the right proper form , which i cant say for many of the Mc Dojos out there. People are genuinely nice and try to help in all aspects , and Master Jo has extensive knowledge and try to instill that into every student. Giving each student , his own time to teach them the proper ways. its been 3 weeks, and i already feel better, my back doesnt hurt as much, im trying to maintain a healthy posture, and physically i feel much better than my last 5 years. I strongly recommend this dojo for its tradition, ways of teaching and members. What was really thrilling is that any age can enjoy kendo, they have members who are in their 70s , 40 yr olds, 30 yrs old, women, kids.

  HMK Kendo Academy is an amazing training facility. There are many high ranking teachers and members to practice with and each one offers a unique viewpoint on training in Kendo. I started training here during my junior year of high school and continue to train as I make my way through college. In my teens I felt very unmotivated and undisciplined, and then training in kendo turned my situation around. In practicing this martial art you learn to unify body, mind, and spirit and how to channel that into one attack. The master pushes his students very hard, but does so with a deep level of compassion.
