  This is a great firm to work with. No time wasted and straight to the point. We recently opened an new business last year and got screwed by our old accountant, so we hired Kaplan and Schultz to fix everything. Mitch and his team cleaned up the mess from last years return re-filed everything and got us back on track. Now I can concentrate on sales and not have to worry about getting letters in the mail. I would definitely recommend them to anyone......!

  I wish I could give a ZERO STAR RATING. This is the worst place I've ever done business at. Mitch Kaplan is somewhat knowledgable but completely unable to follow directions. First time meeting I asked him to do all my tax prep in person with me there and without using emails or faxes. This didn't stop him from sending me multiple emails and asking me to send in some faxes, all after taking my payment and telling me I was done with my tax prep for the year and wouldn't need to do any further action. When I emailed in to complain about this, his secretary responded on his email to tell me I was being unprofessional (all in CAPS). Clearly upset I contacted Mitch to let him know what his secretary had done and also to complain about everything in general. He barely apologized, told me that's how they do things at the firm, and also told me the secretary who responded, Hilda Coll-Valentin, is a crazy person under a lot of stress and that I should disregard her comments. I responded again by telling him how awful his apology was and that there are no excuses to treat a client this way. He never responded again. Hilda did though to let me know more about how ignorant she thought I was (all in CAPS again). This was one of the worst nightmares I've ever had and I wouldn't go back to them if they paid me to. It's bad enough Mitch can't follow directions and doesn't check his own email but to have his secretary not only check his emails but respond as well is absurd! Had I known this was how they did business I wouldn't even have given this place a shot.
