  I brought my ukulele for repairs and it will possibly be months to get it back due to a repair backlog so I can't comment on that. While there, we were offered a tour. Mr. Fred Kamaka, at 93, presented a lively history of ukulele and the Kamaka brand (in it's 102nd year!). His son followed with a tour of the factory while explaining techniques and showing us samples of each part of the instrument. Not only was the 1 1/2 hour tour well done, but it was free! I highly recommend a visit!

  Very informative tour with friendly staff. The history of this establishment is awe inspiring and goes to show how well a business can do if they make a quality product.

  Mr. Kamaka gives the family history to start the tour and Kamaka Jr. takes you back into the back. It is a truly wonderful experience for any ukulele lover or musician.

  Kamaka is the most famous ukulele maker in Hawaii (maybe the whole world). In business for over 100 years and the instruments sound great. Free tours at 10:30am on weekdays. Grandpa Kamaka (now in his 90s) gives a half hour presentation on company history before his grandson leads the tour of the factory. Showroom doesn't have many ukuleles for sale; they usually direct you to nearby stores if you want to buy anything (but even at $1000 and up, these sell quickly and stores have a hard time keeping them in stock).
