::- They lost my rent check which I put into their hand every single month since I used to work in the same building as the management company. They filed eviction papers against me and claimed I never paid them. They successfully contacted the court to had the filing withdrawn. Had to get tracking information for every check after to ensure they were delivered. I still have the letter they wrote to me proving this. - Had horrible noisy neighbors, (floor stomping, TV/radio volume all the way up, loud guests screaming at me through the wall, respectfully asking them to stop only irritated them) complained over the course of a year, no action against them, gave in and hired a lawyer, management was unsympathetic and refused to answer my attorney's inquiries. Contacting the property manager was a waste of time. - Had the privilege of someone else's shower and kitchen water back up into my bathtub every other month. - Maintenance workers lazily patched a ceiling leak in the bathroom which turned into a gaping hole. Took about a week to get it fixed. - Never got my security deposit back despite following the instructions on the lease and leaving on time. - If you plan on renting in Hackensack, they own a few buildings in town. Be vigilant. When speaking to the super/answering an ad, ask for the name of the property owner/management company. Google them. Give these subhumans money at your own risk. You've been warned.
