::No cash sales to the public? I only needed a hot source igniter which is unregulated...

::Why would you not sell to the public?? I don't get it. I can go buy the exact product I wanted from you online -- or even at other stores in San Antonio (a capacitor by the way). This business is limiting their clientele by only selling to licensed contractors. Also, the Johnstone Supply in my home town will sell to anybody; they call it a counter sale. Not sure why this locations will not do the same. I really don't get it. Furthermore, when I called back in to inquire about this policy, the lady answering the phone was very rude. I explained I have been a customer at Johnstone Supply in my hometown and that they do counter sales all day long. I simply inquired why this location would not do the same, and she said "Because our General Manager is very strict on wholesale only; no retail. There is even a GIANT sign on the door saying so before you come in and waste your time." I said OK, I understand, I just don't understand why. She then referred me to A1 Reliable Appliance Parts across town. I told her I already called them and the part was way overpriced -- $45 for a $15 part. She told me "Well, that's better than the $300 a contractor would charge you to come out and replace it." No need for that. I know a contractor will charge me an arm and a leg, which is why I will replace it myself. If I want to replace the brake pads on my car, I can go to Autozone and get the pads for $50 and put them on myself. If I take it to a shop, they will charge me $250. I should not be penalized for having the skill-set necessary to perform simple household repairs. I wonder how much business this place would get if they opened their doors to the public? I am guessing we will never know as long as short-sighted management is running the show.

::I would like to have purchased some simple AC equipment from these guys. However, they said since I didn't have an account, I couldn't purchase the most basic of items. I'm not talking refrigerant or complicated stuff here. Since I'm not a contractor I couldn't purchase a single thing. Well, silly me just walked out the door, went home and ordered it online. Amazon will have the part here in one day. So much for doing business local with a brick and mortar business. I've learned my lesson. Don't bother driving across town when Amazon can get it for you without ever leaving the house.
