JBL just put a BEAUTIFUL roof on our home! I was worried about having it done quickly, because we are putting our home on the market. They put our roof on 3 days after we called, and then had the job done in less than a whole day, left the yard spotless, and the entire crew was nice and courteous. I’m blown away at the amazing job they did, and our GORGEOUS new roof!! I would highly recommend them to anyone!

JBL Home Improvements started work on 7/29/13. The workmen (the owner is NOT doing the work. He is on the job site in the morning and sometimes afternoon) were punctual and polite. Our master bathroom needed repair and renovation after the original tub fittings broke and flooded our downstairs hallway. We hired JBL to 1. demo 2. install new tile shower and bathroom floor 3. install new drywall and Durock. 4. paint 5. install new toilet 5. install new moldings 6. install new vanity 7. drywall and moldings for downstairs hallway and paint bathroom and hallway. For the most part, it was ok. Tile setter is fantastic. Some issues we noticed we brought to Dave Kaplan's attention right away and to his credit, he seemed good about addressing them. Painter was horrible. Paint left on granite in shower, kneewall, large strip of paint left on arch window that I still need to scrape off. Problems began after bathroom was finished. On 8/31/13 first day we could use bathroom after shower doors installed, the one shower head and several body sprays would not turn on. Plumber came back Monday, 9/2/13 to check. It was determined that silt had blocked showerhead but one body spray was faulty. It had never been checked properly and was not performing adequately the week before. We had extra body sprays then but had since returned them, so now we have a faulty body spray that we will have to try and replace. Worst was morning of 9/7/13. At 6 a.m. on Saturday, I woke to the sound of dripping. The laundry room ceiling and cabinetry (located directly under the brand new toilet) were flooded. We ripped open the ceiling to find that when you flushed the brand new toilet, it was leaking. I called Dave Kaplan right away. He and the plumber showed up on Monday, Sept. 9th. Right away the plumber claimed it was "nothing he did". Ok. Then Dave Kaplan claimed the leak was "nothing he did". He claimed the pipe had not been glued properly and that movement caused it to leak. What movement would that be? The demo that JBL Home Improvements did? Or the installation of a new toilet, also installed by JBL Home Improvement. Dave Kaplan refused to fix the problem and tried to charge us for the repair. A repair that entailed ripping out the brand new sheetroock (installed by JBL Home Improvements) and moving the brand new toilet (also installed by JBL Home Improvements) to replumb. We have just spent $18,000.00 plus another $10,000 on materials for a brand new master bathroom where we can't use the toilet. And we have to find another contractor and plumber and pay them to do the repair because JBL Home Improvements does not live up to their work and their promises. We have to install a new ceiling in the laundry room, wipe urine and feces scented water off the cabinetry all because this contractor insists that the movement caused by his company during demo and installation are not his problem. Best of all, he insists we can "only see our side of things". You mean the side where we just paid you, in full, $18,000 to have a working master bathroom? It was funny before how sensitive Mr. Kaplan is. In the beginning of work, his workmen were going to leave a splice in the wall. We caught it and insisted that it be put into a box in the vanity for safety. Then Mr. Kaplan insisted the splice had been left in the wall by the previous contractor. We said nothing, because, pick your battles. But the splice was white to yellow Romex. There was no yellow Romex used by the previous contractor, only white. Coincidence that the workman from JBL Home Improvements was working with a big spool of yellow Romex that day? I don't think so. Now, left with a bathroom I can't use and a contractor who won't fix it, I fail to see the humor in Mr. Kaplan's sensitive side.
