::Dr. Obhrai is a phenomenal doctor! His bedside manner and personality puts my 97-year old mother completely at ease and gives her great confidence in his treatment recommendations. She is quite hard of hearing and he communicates with her beautifully. We can’t say enough good things about him!

::Dr. Obhrai has vast expertise around kidney health. More importantly, at least to me, is his comforting bedside manner. He really takes time for his patients. You will not feel rushed or like just another number. He treats his patients like fellow human beings and not just another number -- something that I have found to be unfortunately rare these days.

::I only had to meet Dr. Obhrai once because more in-depth tests results came back ok and I didn't need any follow up... but I was almost sorry not to have kidney disease because I wanted him to be my doctor. I highly recommend him. He has a positive demeanor, can explain difficult concepts with simple terms, takes the time to listen, checks to make sure you really want to hear all the details (I do!), and is very knowledgeable. I was worried about my kidneys after a routine blood work showed concerning results, and after my (one and only) visit with Dr. Obhrai I left walking on clouds - I knew I was in good hands. Cannot recommend him enough.

::I cannot recommend Dr. Obhrai highly enough. I met Dr. Obhrai in early 2014, when my primary care physician noticed symptoms consistent with nephrotic syndrome and referred me to a nephrologist. I will never forget my first office visit... we sat in his office, and he said: "okay, tell me everything you know about why you're here." What a fantastic way to begin a course of treatment! Patients usually have to fight to get doctors to listen to them... but here was Dr. Obhrai inviting *me* to say everything I wanted to say. I told him what I had learned on the internet. When I was done, he drew a picture of a kidney on his whiteboard and explained exactly what was going on. (Amazingly, some of what I had learned on the internet was untrue!) He invited me to ask as many questions as I wanted to ask, and he seemed to enjoy answering them, in the way a good teacher enjoys questions from a motivated student. I needed a kidney biopsy, which was promptly scheduled. As I left that first appointment, I heard him interacting with the next patient. I could tell right away that this patient was not as interested as I was in asking questions... this patient just wanted someone to take care of him. I was impressed that Dr. Obhrai shifted gears quickly. With me he was a patient teacher; with the next patient he seemed to be more of a therapist, a caregiver. (And then the door closed and I could hear no more.) The biopsy confirmed the diagnosis, and Dr. Obhrai and I formed a little team of two people, dedicated to treating the ailment together. Now he became the captain of a sports team. "Here's how we're going to attack this," he said, and laid out a game plan. I did everything he said, and three years later, my symptoms had disappeared completely. Obviously I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Obhrai. He knows his stuff, of course. His manner with patients is superb. He becomes your teammate. He gives his time freely -- even answering questions via email. I owe my recovery to him. And according to Wikipedia, there is a 30% chance I owe my life to him.

::Dr. Obhrai is one of the best doctors I have ever worked with as a family member and advocate. My father developed kidney function in January of 2017 and it has been a long, difficult road for our family because of that and other heart complications. Dr. Obhrai is very patient centered. He takes the time to explain things thoroughly and patiently answers questions. It's rare, in my extensive experience with medical professionals, to find that perfect combination of super smart AND super compassionate, but that describes Dr. Obhrai very well. I really don't know how we would have navigated the last 18 months without his assistance. If you need a nephrologist, I encourage you to see Dr. Obhrai, as you will gain a tireless advocate and consummate professional to help you, whatever your circumstances.
