  HR block is the worst!! They're all sweet and nice until they get your money and then they disappear on you. I had to file a 1040NR and I was charged 230$ for it. Daniel Duggan was my tax pro. I had some questions and I asked them to clarify them for me. These tax "Pros" with 23 years of experience had to refer it to their tax "school" to get some answers. I had to call them repeatedly to get the status of those answers, even though I was promised I would be informed very soon. After 2 weeks of calling them repeatedly, I finally got the answers I was looking for and gave them the go ahead to file the taxes. I never got a single update after that. I don;t even know if they filed my taxes. I called them today to confirm and the automated response was "They'll be open next year!!". I called the help line and they were not able to give me any information. There should be some way to find out if your taxes have been filed or not. There's nothing in Myblock account either. HR block is just a bunch of lazy, pompous "professionals" who don't give a crap about you or your returns. Avoid them at all costs!!

  There is a guy Kevin Dunn, who doesn't know what he is doing. I am not not sure about other people but beware of this guy.

  Bonnie Simmons entered in my tax return wrong and blamed me for it. She put me as claiming myself as an independent, despite the fact we spent 45 minutes discussing the pros and cons and even using her phone to call the hospital to get in touch with my mother to ask for her advice. My mothers taxes were then not able to go thru and Bonnie rudely told me I had to come back to amend the situation and pay her $25 to do it. When I asked to speak with the manager Bonnie told me she would have her call me when she was done talking with her after lunch. The manager called back and was Extremely rude and told me I owed the irs $500. I already paid back my credit card debt with the return so now I owe $496 I dont have

  I was helped instantly and on time for my appointment. The service was thorough. I had to pay $275--that was unexpected but I had extra forms this year and they charged per form. Ouch! I have gone to HR Block in another state for the past 3 years and never paid that much, but the service was great and my return was handled very well. I will be going back to the 16th Street mall location! Super nice, friendly staff.
