  One star is too is one too many stars. Several weeks ago, I chose to come to this 2054 Jerome Ave location to file my taxes. Having paid a $300+ fee to file my taxes, I assumed I was getting the best service hands down-I learned that the results I hoped for was negatively far from what I received. My tax preparer appeared very tired and several times, he even said he was ready to go home. I thought to myself that he wasn’t very nice and personable, but the only thing that mattered was that my taxes were prepared correctly. Fast forward: According to the New York Department of Taxation, I was supposed to receive my state tax refund last Thursday via direct deposit. It never showed up. H&R Block sent me an email and text message stating that I will be receiving a check. ???? A check??? I didn’t request a check. Needless to say, I had some questions and concerns. During my lunch break today, I called the 2054 Jerome Ave. office and I spoke to the assistant manager JASMINE. I was placed on multiple long holds for nearly 20 minutes just to find out that my tax preparer ABDOULAYE had incorrectly entered my account information. Jasmine hung up on me at least 5 times. The last few times I called back, she refused to get on the phone and told me I need to come into the office. A couple of times, the receptionist said that Jasmine was busy with a client. So she decided to receive a client after hanging up on me! My questions and concerns didn’t involve giving away any sensitive/private information. I was told repeatedly to just come into the office. During my last phone call, I spoke with ANGELA who claimed she was also a manager. She only repeated what Jasmine said and that was to come into the office. This is such a HUGE INCONVENIENCE and to add insult to injury I was treated with like I was stupid. I was supposed to go to court today, but will not be able to make this appointment as I have to go to the H&R office ASAP to have them fix my banking information as my federal funds are scheduled to be sent tomorrow. If this mistake is not corrected in time, I will likely have to wait 6-8 weeks to receive a check from the IRS. I can not afford to wait this long for my tax refund :( My husband was recently laid off from his job and still job hunting, my daughter has school tuition and due to my pregnancy, I’m only able to work part-time. Thumbs down to this 2054 Jerome Ave. location. Shame on the rude-behaving Angela Jasmine, and Abdoulaye! Please do not deal with them and certainly don’t have just anyone to prepare your taxes unless you know and trust them personally or through someone else you know!!!!!

  Professional employees and the software is amazing. They really care about their clients and they work for your best interest. If you are looking for the right place to do your taxes right go there. But if you’re looking to play with the IRS to increase your refund go any shi** place else.
