::The Best Tax Service in Philadelphia.

::I would give 0 star if I could. The accountant had a horrible attitude and was extremely impatient. He refused to provide any advice or answer any questions until “I’m ready to pay him”. I have been a customer for four years, and will no longer be one. Btw, try to avoid Paul Raison. He clearly doesn’t want to help you (a long-term customer) and intentionally withholds basic information once he knows that you are not filing ur return with him during the appointment.

::Who makes and confirms appointments for 9am but never open for them? This happened twice— appointments at 9am, confirmed, and office dark and locked at 9am. Corporate has no way to contact the office or tell you who’s supposed to be there or even offer you anything for your trouble. I will not be making another appointment.

::I have gone to the H&R Block at 1927 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA for the past two years and thought it was a great service. However, in December 2016 I received a letter from the IRS saying I owed over $1,600 from the 2014 tax year. After contacting H&R Block, they had me visit the office and confirmed they made and error (part human error, part technology error). They filled the corrected paperwork and then assured me I would receive the money back that I had to pay the IRS (since H&R block took responsibility). I was told my their associate I would receive the check within six weeks. At seven weeks I still had not received a check. When I called to inquire I was told it would take up to 10 weeks. Finally I received a check, but it was for $67. When I called the specific branch, that had messed up to begin with, they said they would look into it. After much back and forth, they finally confirmed I would only receive the interest that grew from the back payment, not the back payment itself. They explained this was happening because I had not purchased the advance insurance that year. When I asked why someone from the branch would provide me false information then, they said they didn't have control over that. In conclusion, I was out over $1,600 and it took almost three months to find out I was not receiving a refund, after I was assured it was an H&R Block mistake and I would receive a refund. I will never use H&R block again. In fact I want others to know about this experience, this way they are informed and can make a comprehensive decision whether or not they want to use H&R Block.

::Very expensive process. They do the exact same thing that you can do by yourself online in shorter time and they charge you 10 times more!! And when they're done they treat you like you have no option but to agree with them and pay them!! My last time using H&R...
