::Was given a gift card when I moved to Portland so that I could check out this sustainable brewery! Really great that they want to reduce their impact on the planet, but my expectations were high with this in mind. Food and experience was good, but much more low-key and kid-friendly than expected for a Saturday night (expected a trendy, lively, and modern feel). Got a cider and shared a flight - nearly all of the beers were WAY too hoppy for my taste, and the cider wasn’t so great either. Pretzel was disappointingly much more breadstick-like, and the beer cheese wasn’t what I’m used to. We were in the mood for the chicken fingers (good but a bit dry) and the massive pulled-pork nachos (delicious!) appetizers. Nice to try out but location was out-of-the-way. Bikebar location could be interesting to try, though! Wasn’t aware of it until after the fact.

::Such a friendly place. We were booked on a brewery tour but decided to have lunch and a sneaky beer or two first. We just got some bar snacks including waffle fries with a killer garlic aioli. Our server Alyssa was great fun and really welcoming. When it came to the brewery tour with master brewer Adam Hamill, which is free by the way (be nice - drop a $20 in the tip jar), was an absolute pleasure. He was courteous, knowledgeable and prepared to answer every question. Plus the beers you get to sample are as fresh as you're gonna get. If I ever get the chance to come back to Portland, OR - I will certainly visit Hopworks again.

::Pretty irritated that I just had to sit and wait 14 minutes from the time my order was rung in until I was handed three slices of pizza wrapped in foil. Why does it take 14 minutes to wrap up pieces of pizza to go? and this is after I was directed by the hostess to go order from the bar where I then had to sit and wait for the bartender. I had called from the location I had been at and specifically asked if they sold pizza by the slice because I was in a hurry. Now I am late picking up a colleague which is going to make us late to an appointment. It should not take 20 minutes start to finish to get slices of pizza wrapped up. Bartender basically threw me my slices because I asked him at the 10-minute mark if my pizza was almost ready. Cool environment and the pizza is good though

::I love this place and haven't eaten here in a while. I suggested my team order our group lunch so I can get my fix (ha!), but also, because they have a good range of food and can easily accommodate team members with dietary restrictions. Alex (Manager) was great and even let me email my order in advance to make things a bit easier. He also called me the day of to confirm pricing and side orders for 2 of the orders. There was a slight delay in our food order at pick up, but then again, we ordered our food to be picked up really close to their open time. The food was delicious. There was even a silence at our team lunch, which is rare, but mostly because everybody was devouring the yummy meals. Will be back!

::Beer is continuously satisfying. I've been eating at this location for 4 years and have never had a bad brew. The food is solid with quality ingredients you can taste but the portions are hit and miss. Sometimes I'll get an appropriate amount of fries. Sometimes too many. Sometimes too few. The kids menu is substandard compared to the rest of the menu. I always order a slice of pizza from the adult menu for my kiddo because the kid pizza is usually served to us visibly microwaved and old. The kids chicken strips offer 1 full strip and a couple of pieces of another. So I just pay a few more dollars to get the adult portion.
