::My husband and I had planned a trip to Michigan from Florida (a 2,000 mile trip!) to see our three sons and knowing they all love hamburgers of all kinds I spent a few days looking into different places to take them to. We sat down and waited 10 minutes to be greeted with water. It took another 10 minutes to be asked our drink order. When my husband and two oldest boys ordered a beer my re would have made a 50-75% tip on a $200 tab. All five of us work the service industry in a tourist destination. We know how to tip well.

::There's a few different Hop Cats around MI but they're all a great time. Huge beer selection with 30 local craft brews and the list is always being updated. The food here is also great bar food. The crack fries are as addictive as actual crack (i would assume). There is a fair amount of seating in the venue but I would be prepared to wait at prime time on Thursday-Friday.

::I spent hours looking for a great burger place in Detroit when we were making a TWENTY HOUR DRIVE to come see our three sons. It was my very first time being in Detroit... Being up north in general! It would have been an awesome night but after wandering around downtown looking we finally found the place. We got there at 10:15. But, after sitting at a booth and waiting for 30 minutes, given waters and then asked what we wanted to eat/drink... My youngest son mentioned that he wasn't 21. Apparently nobody under 21 is allowed in after 10pm. So if the server would have greeted us on time the following wouldn't have happened... We IMMEDIATELY got kicked out of the place. It was the ONLY restaurant that I wanted to spend the evening with my boys. We weren't sitting at the bar, we were in a captains booth So we all got screwed out of what I thought would be an awesome meal. And the server lost out on massive tip.

::Great place in downtown Detroit. It was packed when we went and we ended up in a huge bar upstairs where it appears they have music/dancing on weekends. The food was good, lots of funky posters on the walls. I enjoyed it, but as a senior, probably won't go back as it is geared towards a younger crowd.

::My first time at this place and wonβt be the last! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I had a fish sandwich (damn good fish) with crack fries. The cheesy dipping sauce is really good alongside them. I had hard cider which was just OK but the Sir Lushington craft beer was VERY GOOD! We ate upstairs and the vibes were great. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu. Highly recommended!
