::This is a pretty cozy neighborhood spot, and they offer a good variety of cheap baked treats and pastries. The Egg Tart (Dan Tat) had a decently flaky crust. The egg custard in the center was gelatinous and jiggly with a slightly eggy and sweet flavor. I thought it could be more eggy and sweet, but it wasn't bad. I liked that they heated it back up for us since the tarts were sitting in the glass counter. Golden Gate Bakery is still the king of fresh egg tarts. I thought the Portuguese Tart (Po Tat) wasn't as good. The crust was similar, but the custard in the center didn't have that distinctive eggy flavor. Although the custard had a creamier texture, it didn't taste very rich, buttery, or sweet. I found it to be kind of bland. If you want really good ones, try them at Koi Palace. The milk tea here was ok. They use the traditional tall steeping kettles, and it looked like they made it fresh. I think they could've steeped the tea longer though. The milk tea wasn't too sweet and had the right amount of evaporated milk to make it rich and full-bodied, but the tea flavor wasn't strong enough. The underlying tea flavor did have the right earthy aroma and flavor, but it just needed to be bolder. Overall, this isn't a bad place to visit if you live close by, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I do have to say that I really liked the people who work here. The lady at the counter was so nice and friendly. That's pretty rare for Chinese style service.
