::Holiday Inn is typically our preferred hotel but this one is horrible and I don’t recommend it. The AC didn’t work in our room and there was not enough blankets for us (family of 4). There is substantial water damage in the room so there is a mold/mildew smell. The balconies are closed due to safety concerns and on the outside of the hotel there is a lot of visible structural damage. I’m really surprised they don’t close to repair/remodel because at some point there will be an unfortunate accident. There is a lot of drag racing at night and the walls are paper thin. So it didn’t quiet down until about 2 AM. I could understand if the price was lower around $70-80 but you will pay $200-300 a night. And at that price the quality/service provided is not acceptable.

::I'll start by saying that the location is the only thing this hotel has going for them. They are nicely located close to beach, good restaurants within walking distance, and tourist attractions like the Selena statue and a short drive the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington Carrier . If you're looking for a view make sure you get a room with a marina view. The rooms are severely outdated. This is motel quality and even then that's being generous. The rooms you get are pricey for the quality and cleanliness of the rooms. The bathroom was quite dingy. The bathroom ceiling fan don't work. The door was too close to the toilet and the rug kept getting caught when the door would move. The towel rack kept falling. The other room the AC was not working, it was either too hot or freezing the thermostat wouldn't regulate. I would not walk barefoot in the rooms the carpet looked dirty. This isn't our first stay here and there has been some time between visits to update rooms but nothing has been done to improve them. The outlets to charge your electronics were loose , the lamps with the outlets were also loose but they were able to charge. The curtains were hard to open and close. The rooms are noisy you can hear other doors shutting and people walking by. This time I will mention we stayed in rooms 1807 and 1806.

::The hotel is exceptionally clean. I was here years ago and it was horrible. Cleanliness in every area of the hotel was horrific . Thanks have definitely changed for the best it looks clean and it smells clean . Housekeepers everywhere cleaning and sanitizing . The breakfast staff on Saturday morning was amazing . Even the Housekeepers were friendly. From what I understand they have a new GM and it shows. My room was spotless bedding was comfortable and the location is unbelievable. When you are in Corpus and want to be in the middle of everything walking distance to restaurants and the beach, this is the place to stay. The only thing was I was not recognized as an IHG member.

::We went to Corpus Christi for all the "Selena" things. This hotel is in the perfect location with a great view of the marina and ocean. We paid for an upgraded view of the marina. The first room we got had a great view but the bathroom sink was clogged nearly to the top with disgusting brown stuff, honestly it looked like sewage but the room didn't smell. Needless to say we got another room that had an 80% view of a building. We dropped off our bags and went to enjoy the only beautiful day that was in the forecast while we were visiting. We came back a few hours later and asked to switch rooms with the better view that we paid for. The manager said we couldn't because it was it was longer than 30 minutes since we checked in and technically all the rooms have a 45° view of the Marina. If this is truly the case why do they charge more for other rooms?!! The hotel wasn't even full. Additionally all the other Holiday Inns that we've stayed at offer complimentary breakfast and free parking. Not the case at this location.
