  This is the best 'dive bar' in the Medical District, maybe all of San Antonio. Great people, low priced fare, and a healthy atmosphere.

  I have nothing nice to say about this place. You have a bartender who is not interested in helping me(a female) but if you are male you are good to go. I ordered food to go 20 mins ago but the cook has been outside playing this whole time. Meanwhile the bartender could careless. While they have good burgers, their service and prices are crap. I do not recommend this place.

  Enjoy music and friends here. For lunch, it happy hour dinner, the kitchen is great! Games are shown in the, and the patio is nice in the spring. Parking is ample, with a great wait staff and bartender.

  I was there last night, reluctantly around 7pm. The first bartender, she was sweet, a delight. But, whoever took over for her was rude, a brat and wasn't much interested in anyone that wasn't male. Twice I walked in to find her sitting on the bar (Yes on it) "talking" to some older gentlemen at the pool table. Both, my date and myself were shunned, and at that point decided to leave. This place used to have great service, with a mature staff. What happened!? At that point we abandoned the thought of having dinner, if this is the service for a couple of beers, I could only imagine what a fiasco ordering food would have been!

  In this place you will find quality food and quality people. From the patrons to the staff to the owner. It is clean with easy access parking and I will dying here maybe twice a month or more when I can afford it. Not because it's expensive, but because I'm on a budget. I can go in and sit down at the table and have a nice glass of water while I watch a sporting event but she'll be treated with respect. Thank you Highlander Bar and Grill. My husband and I frequent change your establishment while he was in chemotherapy years back. I now live very close to you and came back the other night for a visit. Bittersweet and very happy to be back!
