  This place is literally an amazing sub shop. I work in the area and frequently visit Hero King! If you like tuna fish and I mean LIKE a good tuna sandwich try theirs, you will be amazed! Their “mad protein” is also a favorite of mine. Come to think of it, they are opening for breakfast in a few and I will go get a nice pork roll egg and cheese to start the day.

  Being born and raised in the Ironbound (literally 6 blocks from this place) I decided to try this place out for the first time. I was very excited to do so since I have always seen this place and actually walk by it twice a day on the way to Penn Station but never went in. I have also heard such great things over the years about this place. I walked in at 11:50 am and I proceeded to ask: “hi. Can I have a hot pastrami...” that was all I was able to say before the lady cut me off and said in a very stern and unfriendly voice “OUR KITCHEN IS CLOSED TILL 12.” I literally looked at my phone, it was 11:50 am. The lady didn’t offer for me to hang tight for 10 mins, or anything. I felt so unwelcomed there. Normally a business would try to persuade you to stick around, and i would have had no problem waiting 10 minutes. I walked out of there immediately because I was so disappointed that my first time entering this place went so sour. Maybe if your a cop or a friend of the staff they treat you better, but in my case it wasn’t so. My excitement became dissapointment as soon as the lady (a blondish lady probably in her 40s) opened her mouth. What’s even more unfortunate is that depending on how I liked my food, I was gonna use Hero King’s services to provide sandwiches for my company’s holiday lunch. Instead I will be using Hobby’s Deli just a half mile away.

  It's clean and nice. The food quality is just Amazing. People are polite.
