::I went to Hattie Cotton from the first grade through the sixth. I loved my time there and as I think back, my teachers were also why. I had Mrs. Tidwell in the 1st, Mrs. Holt in the 3rd and 4th and Miss Agnes in the 5th and 6th. I remember going across the hall from my class and watching on the television with all of the other kids when President John F. Kennedy was shot. I just got this sad, sick feeling thinking about our president being shot. I didn't know anything about politics then and couldn't understand why. I remember moving away and thinking I would never see my friends again and ended up graduating High School in Goodlettsville with two of my Hattie Cotton friends Delores Averitt and Beverly McPherson. I had a beautiful childhood.

::I went to this school from the first grade until sixth grade (mid 70's-early 80's). Mr. William Boyd was the principal. I was in the original building that was bombed because of integration. The school has my heart. Sooooo many precious memories!

::My Daughter attended Hattie Cotton Last year as a kindergartener, so obviously I can speak from a very limited perspective. She loved her time there, and her teacher was the biggest reason why. Thank you to the staff who are working really hard to make this school better, your effort shows.
