::Tom Harvey, family, and colleagues are amazing. They were extremely compassionate, patient, respectful, and went above and beyond in helping us with the process of a complicated death. Here's what happened: my sister-in-law Martha died suddenly at the age of 33 while studying for her PhD in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Almost all of her family live in Colombia, South America. My wife, Martha's only sister, and I live in North Carolina, USA. Martha's mom wanted to see her daughter one last time before cremation, but did not have a travel visa to go to Canada and the process for a travel visa in Colombia would take weeks; time we all did not have. We sought out a funeral home in Seattle. We made many calls to many different funeral homes and with just a phone call, Mr. Tom Harvey impressed us so much with a gentle and reassuring demeanor. He patiently guided us through a process that we had never had to deal with before. He was very available by phone and email, responded promptly, and was flexible with our constantly developing situation. Mr. Joseph Harvey went to pick up Martha's body from Vancouver to return to Seattle. They were honest about how she may look for her final viewing before cremation but also did excellent in making her presentable to our family. Mr. Tom stayed in house and available during the viewing if we needed anything. After the cremation, Mr. Joseph was so kind and compassionate with Martha's remains and explaining to us what we needed to do to have her remains flown back to Colombia. Through 3 countries and across 2 continents, we could not have asked for better facilitators. My one regret is that Harvey Funeral Home is so far away from us in Seattle; if I or any of my family needed such services again, we could not imagine going anywhere else. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and I wish every good thing is this life comes to you; for what you do helps and heals more than you may ever know.
