  Rooms are nice and clean, beds are comfortable and is conveniently located near restaurants and stores. During both stays, we had the same receptionist, Annette, and she was absolutely wonderful. Very helpful and an incredibly friendly and welcoming personality.

  We stay at the Hampton inn Bakersfield almost twice a year or more and I have to say the hotel is the best to accommodate us in every way. From the registration desk to the room attendant to the security. We enjoy our stay Everytime.

  Would give this place - 1 star. Had a great welcoming from the afternoon staff, but was racial profiled by the evening staff and asked to leave without them confirming that I was an actual guest. No apologies from either the manager on duty or her “security guard” who tried to evict me while I was using their lobby computer to print. “We have a lot of homeless in the area” they said to justify their claim. Somehow they don’t understand how that comment makes it even worse. Because I’m black and was carrying a grocery bag they think I’m homeless even though I paid over $350 to stay there for 2 nights. Would they do the same to a white guy?

  I wanted to give it a 1 or 2 star, but I couldn't because it had things that I liked. The whole reason we went there was to get a good night's sleep, but the bed was so hard that I had trouble falling asleep and kept waking up during the night. My better half slept on top of the covers to add more cushion, and our bed at home is a firm! The breakfast bar was great, the place was clean, the staff was pleasant, and check in/out was easy. The only other negative was that the parking wasn't secured, sharing a parking with a small store and buffet on a busy corner, and there were homeless walking all over the area.

  Checked in 5pm. Desk clerk, Billy, was incredibly helpful, friendly, and courteous. He went beyond what was expected, offering us a storage solution when he saw that we had bikes. He also took our phone reservation an hour earlier and was very helpful and patient ( bad cell connection ). Our room was comfortable and quiet. All of the employees were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good. A nice experience.
