Hampden is one of the best kept secrets of Minneapolis. I strongly disagree with reviewers who said this place was overpriced. I found products such as homemade ravioli, pasta sauce, local produce, granola, and bread at prices that were most assuredly cheaper than Seward. If you want a ton of selection, and if you are willing to pay a premium for perfect veggies and your exact brand of tofu, then this place isn't for you. But if you are on a budget, want wholesome, consciously grown food, and love quirky adorableness, then you should definitely patronize Hampden.

A great local store for soup, groceries, and little gifts. Friendly, helpful staff. I regularly poke around, and love to find new things each time. Such a hidden gem!

So much soul. Away from the hustle and bustle. What I need and more to explore in cozy neighborhood COOP. Huge Asian food selection. Best soups daily and baked goods. Local pottery. Gorgeous fresh organic produce case.

This place has a lot of charm and they do quite a bit with the relatively small space they have. On the down side, they are one of the only co-ops in the metro area that has no deli (sandwiches, rotisserie chickens, soup and other hot foods). It seems like they have more than enough kitchen space to do this--it's puzzling why they don't. That said, the staff (mostly voulenteers I gather) are helpful and the produce selection is not huge but seems to always be very fresh.
