  Barber took 45 minutes to cut my hair (most barbers take less than 15) and still messed it up.

  They'll promise over the phone to honor their website special and then bait and switch you when you're there. Don't bother going

  This review would have been a 5 star if I had been aware if the African American price list. I took my grand daughter to get her first hair service at a salon today (5/6) and chose this one because they regularly cut my grandson’s hair and for the convenient location. Mekdi does my grandson’s hair and she is always wonderful. Charmaine did my grand daughter’s hair and she was amazing as well. Not only did she do a fabulous job but offered great hair care advice. My complaint is based on the surprise at the register when it was time to pay. I expected to pay the prices listed but was shocked to discover the “African American” hair price for my granddaughter. The listed price is $25 for a shampoo, blow dry and cut. The price ended up being $47. The shampoo cut was $19 and blow dry straight was $28. I was told that because she had natural hair, it was more to blow dry (keep in mind her hair was not blown straight but rather blow out to resemble an awesome afro). The pricing difference should have been discussed prior to the service.

  I had the Straighten Up package yesterday with Tia (we both had a chuckle over having the same first name) & she was fabulous! The package includes a chemical service, along with a haircut. She was very thorough in making sure that my haircut was exactly how I wanted it. Also, she was very knowledgeable in her recommendations for products to address my hair concerns. Last, but not least, she was very personable to me & all the customers that she assisted while I was there. I highly recommend choosing her as your stylist, when you visit.

  After my 11 year old experienced her first experience of discrimination from the hair cuttery in Potomac Yards and made to feel ugly based upon her hair texture. Mekdi made her feel beautiful. She is wonderful, exceptionally talented and has earned a customer for life. We appreciate your skills. You never know who your servicing. Self esteem is very important and she helped instilled that in my child today. AHHH PRICELESS AND A GEM. I WILL FOREVER BE APPRECIATIVE!!!!
