::The woods are just like any woods in the northeast US. It's exceptionally crowded given its next to nyc. The only redeeming feature here is the breakneck hike, which is challenging and rare. Otherwise it's just a northeast woods. Very typical. Nothing shockingly great or bad. Absolutely can't compare to western US parks or hikes.

::Not far from Ny metro area. Great trail. But scared when found a snake running on a trail. Overall had wonderful experience.

::Great hiking - challenging, but doable. Bring plenty of water and make sure to follow the trail markers. Friendly helpers at the trail head with maps and tips for making it up the mountain. We do Breakneck at least once every year and have always enjoyedit!

::Great hiking to great views. There is a MetroNorth whistle stop and plentiful parking to access the park. We started out on the Breakneck Ridge trail. The warning signs are accurate: it is a strenuous climb. But the trail is well marked, and there was only one vertigo-inducing scuttle across an exposed rock face.

::This is an incredibly beautiful location. The breakneck trail is not for beginners and once you start, the only convenient way down is to finish going up and around. There are many beautiful spots for pictures but be prepared to make the full hike and then the 1.5 mile walk back to the parking lot once you finish.
