::Golden's Tree Service was very responsive when I called for a down tree at my house in Putnam Valley. They came out as soon as possible and was very fairly priced compared to others i had spoken with. Joe was extremely professional and i would highly recommend to anyone that has tree needs weather it is trimming of full removal to give them a call. I will definitly be using again in the future!

::We have been using Goldens for years. They are always prompt, careful, and conscientious. We have had them take down some monster trees in difficult locations and they were able to do the job without damaging surrounding vegetation. They also maintain our 400 year old oak tree and make annual inspections of the rest with reasonable suggestions for which trees need to come down because of safety issues and which are likely to fall with little impact.

::I called Golden's Tree Service to have them trim several bushes and specimen trees--a weeping cherry and two crab apples. I have trimmed them in the past myself, but didn't have the time to do so this year. They also cut down a small tree. I think Golden's has the ability to cut trees down, but forget about trimming trees. I should have known when Ken, the owner, came to my house and did an estimate that I shouldn't have hired him, because he said something like: "people like trees/shrubs trimmed differently," Really, Ken? He is wrong. There is the right way and the wrong way to trim trees and bushes. His guys had no idea how to trim weeping trees or any trees, for that matter. Dead branches were not removed. Stumps were left on the weeping branches. Stumps. That looks like crap and is bad for the tree's health. Cross branches were not cut. Again, tree cutting 101. My guess is that he knows how to cut a tree down but have no clue whatsoever how to trim trees. I have already spent a couple hours fixing what his guys didn't do. I am guilty of not inspecting their work closer when they were here. I did see some stumps on the weeping cherry and had them cut them off, but didn't see all of them. Furthermore, they should have used a ladder to cut those branches, because from the ground, it is nearly impossible to do the job right--which of course they didn't. Leaving dead branches is also totally unacceptable. I also would have considered giving them 2 stars, but when I called to complain and ask them to come back and fix things, they did not respond. Now, I know they have been in business for a long time; I am sure they do fine work on cutting trees down. However, if you are only interested in having trees trimmed, find a professional who knows what they are doing. Golden's has no idea of what they are doing.
