Hanna is an "amazing" hairstylist.. I am a bit of a type A protectionist and she did a great job with my long hair. Hanna will be the only stylist cutting my hair.

I recently had an appointment with Summer, and asked for some layers, heavier on the bangs, and mentioned I'd like to fix a problem I have with my hair flipping up at the bottom. Pretty simple. Well I'm pretty sure she intentionally gave me a bad haircut. I know how well these guys are trained, and Summer is usually really good. She basically just sheered off the ends all over, and put in one layer an inch from the bottom which made it flip up in spectacular fashion. After I got home and really got a good look at it I called to see if I could come in and have it fixed. So this time she put some layers in, but they are mismatched from the front to back, and look pretty weird, and still no bangs. I have been going to Globe and seeing Summer for a year or so, and I have always been so impressed with her level of talent and attention to detail. I always had short technical cuts and she executed them with precision. I specifically asked for a stylist that could do that when I set up my first appointment with Globe, and they were right about Summer. BUT... unfortunately talent does not always equal maturity or professionalism, and I feel like that may be the case here. One day I called to see if I could have some extensions colored and cut to blend them into my hair. The girl on the phone said sure, I see you have been here with Summer so I'll set up an appointment with her. I said yes I do see Summer, but I asked if there was someone who specialized in extensions because they don't behave like natural hair, and some salons have people that specialize in that. The girl on the phone changed her tone and you could tell she thought that was an insulting question, and even though she said they didn't have anyone who specialized in it, she still stuck me with someone else for the extensions and Summer would do the cut. I'm assuming the message was passed on to Summer in a gossipy way, cause after that, everything changed with her. When I came in to have the extensions looked at, the cut with Summer somehow disappeared from the schedule, so they asked if I wanted to wait and see her after she was done with a client. I said yes, since it is an hour and a half drive from my house, and I didn't want to make the trip again. When she got to me, she made a sarcastic comment about not being able to work on my extensions, and I could tell she was angry about it. I felt terrible about offending her, cause I never meant to do that, and I tried to apologize, but it didn't ease the tension. I just feel like you really don't have to like someone to do your job. You're getting paid to do your best and that's what you should do regardless of your personal feelings about the person. Obviously Summer has no problem just taking my money and not doing her job, knowing that I am 8 months pregnant and have to drive an hour and a half to get there. I'm sorry but that seems pretty immature and wrong to me. Obviously I won't be coming back.

I have been going to Globe Salon and Staci Linklater since they opened on Charleston/Decatur. I love their location now downtown. It is very hip, with an awesome vibe and fun, energetic people. Staci is the only one I would ever trust with my hair. She is exceptional with color and cuts! I always leave her feeling beautiful and confident. I have referred several friends to her and they are always pleased and keep going back. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment with her TODAY!
