  Absolutely the BEST BBQ that I have ever eaten!!! The atmosphere was fun, we went on mothers day so it was xtra busy. It took a little while to order (15 mins.), but it was worth the wait.

  Gates is always a great place to eat in kc! Today there was a older gentleman sitting outside enjoying the day. He greated each and every customer.

  Established local Kansas City barbecque that rarely disappointed. The ordering system can be off putting if you've never been before. Just be prepared when it's time to order.

  Love this long-established BBQ joint. Really tasty smoked meats serves with the signature, tangy Gates sauce (your choice of spicy or mild). Meals come with classic sides, like pasta salad and coleslaw. Friendly service, great food, hard to beat! If I recall correctly, this BBQ can also be found at the Truman Sports Complex.

  I usually get brisket or burnt ends sandwich here to go. There is a quick pick up counter around back from regular line, so if you call in your order you can avoid the service line up front. Gates is consistent good barbecue with the best sauce in town.
