My former dentist retired, and I continued to go to the same office with the new dentist. When I went in for my cleaning, I was told that I needed 3 teeth pulled and a bridge made. I was given a price of $2,500 AFTER MY INSURANCE paid a certain amount. I was DEVASTATED over the idea that 3 teeth had to be pulled!!! It wasn’t just the $275 per tooth to pull each tooth, but I was so upset as I’ve NEVER heard that I need any teeth pulled before the new dentist that took over. I went to Dr, Leonard who was highly recommended by family friends. I took my X-rays to get a second opinion. Dr, Leonard took a look at them and then asked his assistant if she saw a problem to which she replied no. He said that I didn’t need any teeth pulled but did need 1 filling. I was relieved! When I checked out, I was told not to pay anything until insurance paid first. I would get a bill if I owed anything after insurance paid. After my experience at the other dentist office , I was pleasantly surprised. The office staff Crabapple Family Dentist wanted money immediately. They even charged my mother $300 or so dollars BEFORE insurance was filed. The $ has yet to be paid back to her. When mom contacted her insurance, she was told that the dentist had a contract with them to charge a certain amount and that she did NOT have to pay anything! This new dentist also told my dad that the crown on one of his front teeth needed to be replaced. Dr. Grove had ordered another one BEFORE HE RETIRED to apply because the first crown didn’t fit 100%. Dad was told that they did not have the new crown that the previous dentist had said would come in to put back on! Again there was going to be a large bill to fix it! When Dad went to Dr. Leonard with the first crown, he was able to put the crown back on! I knew that Dr. Leonard was VERY HONEST and NOT just trying to put more $ in his pocket by doing procedures that were not necessary! I’M VERY HAPPY WITH DR. LEONARD!

I've been going to Dr. Leonard for years, and the front office staff has become more rude and negligent every time I'm there. They have failed to update my address for over 3 years now, and when told it was incorrect again on my last visit they responded with "Well what do you want me to do about it?" followed by an eye roll and a derisive snort. Honestly, I expect them to do their jobs. Bare minimum. Apparently that's just too much to ask for. The dental technicians are very nice and thorough, but I will not be coming back again due to the office staff.

I left a dentist in Alpharetta 6 years ago after this dentist had capped 4 of my teeth and stated that I needed 3 more caps due to large fillings that were compromising the health of my teeth. This was very upsetting to me, and after talking extensively to my dentist, he had convinced me it was necessary to avoid root canals. My orthodontist steered me to Dr. Leonard, whom he used for himself. Dr. Leonard determined that not only did I not need these 3 teeth capped, but 2 of the prior capped teeth were needlessly capped. I was both angry and happy, knowing my teeth would be ok, yet I had 3 good teeth taken from me prematurely. Dr. Leonard convinced me he would never take a tooth until there was no choice left and he would do everything to protect them as I have soft teeth. Six years later, these teeth are still healthy, and I've yet to have another cap. His services are always covered at 100% under my dental plan because he is so fairly priced. You won't find a luxurious office or a coffee bar, but you will find very kind and attentive hygienists and a very skilled and conservative dentist. I wouldn't go to anyone else.
