I went to Fuda in Elmwood Park because my contractor recommended the place (Apparently he gets a commission for recommendations) Nancy helped me with the selections. She was pleasant enough at first, but as time passed she became a bit annoyed for not taking her design reccomendations. I wanted plain white tilws, she showed me tiles white with color. Was upset when my daughter rejected on of the selections saying 20 years a a designer she does not need to hear that her selection was for the elderly. any way I did reluctantly settled for one., even though i was not happy with it. When showed it to the other members of my family they too did not like the selection. I called the nest day to stop the order. When Nancy came back to work I gave her the tile name and the lot number of the tile I had selected for The Tile Shop. I also told her that I had three boxes of that same tile so she should order the same but less three boxes. The tiles when arrived, was smaller than the ones from the Tile Shop, The order was for the same amount , these tiles when I asked around even with the other Fuda locations, was cheaper than the one I had originally purchased, so no adjustment was made to the price. Unfortunately expecting the same tiles my contractor had tiled one wall with the tile from The Tile Shop, so now I have different sized tiles in the bathromm plus four boxes of tile still sitting at home! they do not take back any part of the order! The one star is because Nancy did work to find the white tile, but unfortunately there was none in the store! All she had to say they do not have any, instead to trying to sell me something I was not comfortable with. I would have got the rest of the tiles from The Tile Store too.

the tile here is beautiful, but I was shocked and displeased with the customer service. I was walking around the store for almost a half hour before a sales associated offered assistance. When she finally did, she responded arrogantly when I wished to know the price of tiles, as they are not publicly marked. The sales associate told me she has been in the business of interior design for many years. This is fine, but she immediately discounted my backsplash tile plans. I tried to explain the style we are looking for and the design of the adjacent space, to no avail. In fact, she told me to never purchase specific items with certain details that were for sale in the store because they are too "2016-2017" trendy. I don't understand how the store would expect to make a sale of those specific products if the front saleswoman is telling people not to buy them. Her intention there is that certain tiles are "too trendy." Well, I live in a trendy neighborhood, and should I choose years from now to get new tile, I can afford it. She also demanded that I bring a piece of my countertop in to the store for direct comparison (I found out after I left the store that our building company does not have any samples available). She seemed bewildered that I wanted to do my best by at least showing her photos of the kitchen. she insisted only 3 tiles styles would match (unless I bought white marble, which is out of budget). I realized how frivolous the experience was once we tried other tile stores. The store itself has a lovely selection. It would be made better by nicer customer service agents and less aggressive sales techniques. Ultimately, as a consumer I want to purchase what I want. I will make the decision if something looks right in my home. I can easily do that my taking a sample to my home and checking it out that way (although the store charges a fee to do this).
