One of the best small art museums I've been to. The building is amazing and the exhibits are smartly curated. Plus it's free to enter. Definitely worth a stop.

Even better than the Seattle Art Museum. A lesser-known gem in Seattle. Well curated and interesting permanent collection and visiting collections. Five stars because it is free. Donate donate donate. Thanks!

Free to the public, closed on Mondays, small enough for a quick escape from the daily drudgery. They have a permanent collection in back, and cool rotating exhibits closer to the front. I've been exposed to interesting new artists that put me in a place of inspired, quiet introspection. I highly recommend. Their outdoor water features are also pleasant, as is their little museum cafe (Cafe Frida) and their gift shop.

Ended up here by (a serendipitous) accident. We were trying to attend an event that was being hosted at the Frye Museum but the organizers (not affiliated with Frye) failed to notify about a cancellation. It was to our benefit. This is a wonderful free art museum in the middle of the city. There is a permanent art collection and then rotating exhibits, both of which are fantastic. Highly recommend this museum!

The museum is free, but donations are welcome. For a smaller scale museum, they manage to have a wide array of art on display, both in the main gallery and the rotating exhibits areas. The staff is friendly, free parking is available across the street and pay to park spots are all around. The cafe has a nice selection and in warm weather, a cute little outdoor area to eat. The gift shop offers many things worth taking a look at. They also offer varied programs for aspiring artists and people who simply appreciate art. You can even bring your own supplies and paint in the main gallery. It's a peaceful place. I will definitely re-visit.
