::decent hotel... poorly run and managed. I've stayed here a handful of times, as I lived in Ohio and traveled regularly to Boston for work. Pros: nice feel to the lobby, decent food and drink at the restaurant/bar, starbucks on site. Cons: rooms are a little bit "weird"... strange/no/limited clothes storage in some rooms... one room had an iron but no ironing board?? oh, and then there were the "incidental" charges that weren't billed to the card I provided until 6 months after the transaction. Luckily I still work for the same employer, otherwise I would be paying these charges from my own pocket. ... it was nice enough, but I just don't feel like this is the kind of place deserving of my own, or my employer's money.

::I stayed three nights here this past week and had a very mixed experience. Several things went wrong: (#1) When I arrived in Boston, I called the hotel to see if we could check in early. I discovered that they did not have my reservation in their system. I had made it over the phone about three weeks earlier with a sales manager. On that phone call, I had asked for the Harvard rate, as instructed on the web site for the event I was attending. They were confused about the Harvard rate (#2) but eventually gave me a price that we agreed on. So when I called from the airport, I told the gentleman the rate I had been quoted and he said he would have to look into that but that they could accommodate us. When we arrived at the hotel about 40 minutes later, there was one front desk person and he was on the phone. We waited, four of us, with our luggage, in front of the desk. We waited some more. He seemed to be having a charged conversation with a customer sorting out a bill. We waited for about 15 full minutes and no other staff person came to assist us. Nor did the front desk person put the caller on hold in order to greet us or to check us in (#3). Finally he got off the phone and I was able to speak to him. He had not sorted out the room situation for me (#4). He referred me to the manager, to whom I had to explain the situation all over again. He was confused about the Harvard rate I had been quoted, and rifled through a large stack of papers on the desk to see if he could find it, instead of accommodating me. (#5) At long last, he finally realized that he needed to assure me he could simply give me the room I had reserved at the price I had been quoted. I had to leave at that point to get to an appointment (without checking into my room), so he said he would call me to confirm this. He did call me about an hour later to say all was sorted out, and so I assumed all was resolved. When I arrived back at the hotel and went to my room, I discovered he had given me the wrong room (#6). I needed two queen beds and he had given me one king. My two kids and I needed two beds. My kids were exhausted at that point, so they fell asleep and I went to get a new room. I worked with the front desk person again to sort it out. He said that when I was ready to switch rooms after the kids woke up, to come back and he would give me the new keys. I asked if he could please leave a note or something so that if someone else was working at the desk at that point, they would know that he had worked this out. When I did come back about an hour later, sure enough, a different person was at the front desk. I told her what I was looking for. She looked at me with a blank look and had no idea what I was talking about (#7). I asked for the other gentleman who had helped me earlier, and the manager came out. I explained to him what the other gentleman had arranged, and finally, at long last, I was given keys to a new room as I had originally requested. The manager did apologize sincerely, but did not offer any amenities to soften the blow of my difficult and maddening arrival. To top it all off, after this very stressful afternoon that went on for about 5 hours, I met a friend at the bar for a cocktail. I ordered a Moscow Mule, took a sip and was shocked- it was totally bitter and not at all a Moscow Mule (#8). I told the bartender it didn't taste right and he responded defensively, that he had made it correctly and that apparently I didn't like their brand of ginger beer (#9). I sent it back and asked him to make me gin & tonic instead, which he did. These were nine problems I encountered upon arriving at this hotel, all of which were unnecessary and aggravating. I will say that after this point, we had no further problems. The room was comfortable and quiet, and the free shuttle to Harvard Square was very convenient. I will be coming back to Cambridge frequently over the next four years, and this hotel had a great opportunity to earn a new repeat customer. At this point, I will be looking for another place to take my business.

::Warm and inviting staff were incredibly helpful. Spacious room as well as a generous lounge area provided many options for relaxing. My visit was like a home away from home, wish I had more time there! Can’t wait to come back!

::Decent hotel in Cambridge. Easy to get to -- if you find driving in the Greater Boston area easy. Clean, updated (decent number of outlets and USB charging ports available). Somewhat pricey. Nice little bar off the lobby with simple but nice food available at breakfast and dinner. Starbucks is easily accessible next door as is a Whole Foods.

::This is the absolute coolest hotel I've ever stayed at. I was only there for a night, but the staff are relatively nice/helpful and the rooms are decently clean. Good water pressure and a comfy bed. The decor is on point and the location is great. The hotel is next door to a Whole Foods and across the street from a Trader Joe's. Would definitely recommend and will seek out this place on my next visit.
