::I love it there. I must say, there's a devilishly handsome fellow there, a cashier, I believe.

::Why in the world would a Dr. (on a Friday) offer, without warning, a pharmacy that is closed over the weekend (no weekend hours) and on holidays?

::Really really slow moving, but convenience is key for university students

::Some frustration at 40 Acres and a long walk to another pharmacy: My student recently went to get a prescription filled. He had an insurance card (through my place of work) and his doctor's prescription. One thing he did not have was a "prescription card" which apparently some insurance carriers provide. I have never used one or needed one because, as I found out, most pharmacies can get the information they need by calling a "help desk" common in the industry. However, 40 Acres refused his prescription and made us chase down the information. When I reached my prescription drug provider, the consultant gave me the information and told me that 40 Acre Pharmacy should not have made me or my student chase that information down, that it was the pharmacy's job to do that. The consultant was very adamant about that! I don't want to be too critical, the folks at 40 Acres were very friendly, but perhaps the folks working the counter lacked some training. From what I learned, all pharmacies know about this "help desk" and regularly use it to get the information they need. A good lesson learned (it is part of the University after all!), but be prepared.

::Fast service, knowledgeable and helpful staff! They will consult you about your medications to make sure you know how to take it and even explain how the medicine will work. Pricing is competitive! They even carry snacks and drugstore items like shampoo and lip balm - at good prices (compared to the CVS on Guadalupe and 22nd)
