  I expected a far better presentation for the humble man who kept this nation together. Instead of a theatrical “ re-enactment of that night”, we got a gracious volunteer in a hoop dress, tell a short story. Come on guys, I know you can do Abe better. We owe him much better.

  Loved the ranger's telling of Lincoln's assassination. Fascinating piece of history. He gave us so much information and it was short enough for the kid's to enjoy as well. We only got to experience this part, as everything else associated with the theater was closed. Huge bummer that we didn't get to walk across the street and see where Lincoln was at when he died.

  DON'T GO TO THE 4:30 TOUR!! There is no tour. You go and in the theater and the guide (if that's what you want to call him) will answer your questions. Our guide was not in the best mood or the nicest person you've ever met. If you can't be at the theater before 4, just wait. The theater is beautiful and its really cool to be there and to see the exact place, but it would have been much better to get a tour and to have a guide speaking.

  Visited with a small, homeschool group. Great learning experience but need more time to tour basement. Not very accommodating to the needs of a teacher trying to 'teach' her students. There is so much history and I desperately wish I could have explored more! The speaker in the theater at the end was phenomenal!! During his talk, not one child ages 5 to 15 in our group became restless....very talented and engaging.

  Love this Theatre and Park! A fantastic reconstruction of the Original Ford's Theatre (the original was purchased by the government, used for office space, and it was eventually "demolished" and rebuilt to the exact specifications of pictures taken the night Lincoln was shot there), Ford's Theatre boasts an impressive museum describing the mood of the country around the time Lincoln was killed, going into fantastic detail about the conspirators and the eventual assassination of Lincoln. I thoroughly enjoyed that museum. After walking through the museum, you'll walk up a couple flights of stairs to be on the top balcony, overlooking the stage and booth where Lincoln was shot. When you're there, I high recommend asking a Ranger for a talk about that night, it's truly intriguing. Overall, I loved this place and consider it a must-visit if you're in DC!
