  I am very surprised at some of the views. Maybe these people was expecting more, but there is certain rules in place or guidelines. Probably mostly single people, or people thinking to get really over. That isn't the purpose. I always had a pleasant experience, and I only go when really in need, family of nice size. I get a lot of nutritional food, and it really helps the end of month and covers about 2 wks. It is the best I have experienced in NYC, and definitely better than pantries in Bronx where I live. And they give you a lot of choices! And you can even go next door to eat!!! The volunteers & staff was very generous and friendly! Also, yes sometimes the veggies get rotten fast because they get a whole lot!! Doesn't go fast enough! However, they don't give it to you!! And rest of food is fresh! Cooked food fresh! You can't even carry home. Heavy, u need a cart!! Don't forget to bring bags & Cart! I am so delighted, and thankful to have this place there for us in need!

  OUT OF FOOD ? AFTER A LONG 2 HOUR WAIT OPTIONS ARE LIMITED AT THIS DISASTER OF A PANTRY. LONG LINES OUTSIDE CONSIST MAINLY OF WOMAN FROM THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC THAT USE THESE PANTRY ITEMS TO FILL UP BARRELS AND SHIP THEM BACK TO DOMINICAN REPUBLIC WHERE THE FOOD IS SOLD ON THE BLACK MARKET.,HUGE SCAM AND SCAM ARTISTS. AFTER EVENTUALLY GETTING INSIDE THE PANTRY AFTER A LONG 2 HOUR WAIT OUTSIDE IN LINE STANDING,THE SHELVES WERE COMPLETELY BARE,MY ONLY OPTIONS WHERE (ROTTING MOLDED FRUIT,SOAKED UNREFRIGERATED CUT VEGETABLES WITH SIGNIFICANT MOLD AND ROT. THE NYC HEALTH DEPARTMENT SHOULD PAY THIS PLACE A VISIT AND WITNESS THE MISHANDLING OF FOOD AND ROT AND MOLDED ITEMS THAT ARE DISTRIBUTED TO POOR HUNGRY PEOPLE.TRUCKLOADS OF DONATED ITEMS MOST THAT NEED IMMEDIATE REFRIGERATION SIT IN THE SUN AND ROT OUTSIDE THIS PANTRY. THE CORPORATIONS THAT SEND VOLUNTEERS AND DONATIONS TO THIS PANTRY SHOULD REALLY DO SOME SURPRISE VISITS TO THIS PANTRY TO OBSERVE THE FRAUD.AVOID THIS PANTRY IF YOU ARE HUNGRY AND IN NEED,YOU WILL BE SICKENED BY THERE FOOD.

  I get help when ever me or my husband goes there. We just don't get enough food for two adults nor are we able to come back for the rest of the month. I feel like people that get less should be able to come back at least twice a month. Over all no complaints.
