  I called 311 to report the smell of gas in my building and was transferred to this NYFD. They arrived promptly, but did not check for gas where I mentioned I had smelled it, instead they opened the double apartment doors and headed to the basement. After that they said they did not find anything and were ready to be on their way. I suggested they test upstairs as this had happened 2 weeks earlier in my building, the halls tested negative. They left within 5 mins. My neighbors also smell gas right now and national grid has arrived and also confirmed the smell of gas. Oh well, if we all go up in flames it's their funeral right? Oh no wait it's mine...
