::The stores (notice, stores is pluralized) are often in disarray, filthy and disorganized. Despite the abysmal atmosphere, the staff members are always polite, courteous, friendly and helpful. The poorly stocked shelves and crowded aisles are often more difficult to navigate due to unpacked boxes, dollies, carts littering the aisles. To further exacerbate the situation, is the intentional foolhearted way that the items are placed within the aisles themselves. For instance, why would anyone logically store feminine hygiene products (i.e., sanitary napkins, tampons, douches and the like) in the same aisle as children's cereal and various food stuffs? I assume that this is a marketing tactic meant to lure unwitting customers into picking up impulse items as they frantically search for their intended purchases. Furthermore, customers are asked to form a line within the aisle in furtherance of that agenda. Personally, the clutter can be quite overwhelming, the lines too long and customer patience too short. Oftentimes, walking out is the best solution. Some would rather waste money elsewhere than save money by dealing with chaos, confusion, filth, clutter and disorganization in both the Broadway/Kosciusko Street and Broadway/Ralph Avenue Family Dollar. My own daughter refers to both stores as "Family Squalor!!!"
