::I have been going to chiropractors my whole life. I just moved to Putnam Valley and recently was injured and needed to find someone good to work on my back. I feel blessed to have found this practice. They are very economical and give you so much more than the average chiropractor, and both Dr. Russo and Dr. Owen are very friendly and warm. On my first visit, Dr. Own did a bunch of diagnostic exercises to make sure I didn't have anything serious like a herniation. At each appointment, they start you off with about fifteen minutes on the table with electric stimulation pads on your back and a large heating pad over it. Then you get massaged in the areas to be adjusted. Dr. Owen did something I have never experienced before: He straps my ankles to the table, and the lower part of the table adjusts downward and swings side to side. He swivels my hips and legs as he stretches my back muscles upwards with his hands. The leg motion creates release and traction in the spine while he stretches the muscles. All in all, I get worked on for 45 minutes to an hour, which is so much more than I've had done by any chiropractor I have ever seen, most of whom spend no more than 10 minutes on you. Also, since my injury created tension in my back muscles, my body didn't want to be adjusted. Dr. Owen took his time, working on me from one visit to another, slowly moving my spine into place. He encourages my efforts to aid the process by taking epsom salts baths before my visits and using a special Ayurvedic massage oil I bring with me to appointments. I appreciated that he didn't try to force it, as I had a lot of muscle tension and pain, and forcing the adjustment could have injured me further. My only complaints are the TV in the waiting room (which, on one occasion, spurred a long political rant by someone who was waiting--not what I want to hear when I'm trying to relax my muscles so that my back will adjust properly) and the radio in the adjustment room (also the last thing I want to hear when I'm relaxing on the table for fifteen minutes), but Dr. Owen shuts the radio off for me. It would be really nice if they'd use quiet music in the adjustment rooms to drown out the noise from the outer office and create a relaxing atmosphere. An aromatherapy diffuser would also encourage relaxation. I highly recommend this practice.

::I've been having sore neck problems for almost 2 months. Went to a different chiropractor in Peekskill before this guy who spent over 20 minutes stretching my legs and back and gave me an adjustment that did nothing to help my problem. Then asked me to go get coffee with him after. Creepy. Walked into Dr. Russo's office and immediately felt a great atmosphere. I received a completely different and tailored treatment involving massage, electronic pulse therapy, neck stretching, and a great adjustment. One visit made me feel a lot better. Not only does this guy know what he's doing, but his prices are reasonable, and he's super personable. Wish he could be my doctor back home!
