::I went to this store this afternoon & I rushed home so I could use my wifi to write this review. This shop was breathtaking it's run by a couple that actually travels to different locations around the world to get the masks and artifacts you see on display. Their walls were decorated with masks from tiny to the size of a torso & every thing in between. They have jewlery & necklaces from a variety of cultures. I had no money at the timebut I promised the couple that I would return in the future to buy an African mask to hang up right over my bed. I came here for help on a college presentation on Sub Saharan Africa art & the sweet lady that runs the shop gave me all the info I needed. She showed me books & gave me back stories on certain masks. Do yourself a favor if your ever in the city go look this place up you won't regret it. Make sure you have cash cause they don't accept credit trust me I tried ;)

::What a fantastic shop this is! We spied the small, 2nd floor "open" sign and an assortment of beautiful African masks while wandering around Bleecker Street and found our way into the best shopping experience of our entire NYC visit. The place is filled, floor to ceiling, with an amazing collection of art, jewelry, and artifacts. The friendly owners are quite well-informed about each piece and took customer service to the next level by looking up photographs and articles about each piece that we were interested in. We enjoyed the shop so much that we came back the next day and brought our mother, whose love of African art can be seen in nearly every room of her home. Each of us found a treasure to take home, and while the owner was wrapping them, his wife (having learned that it was our mom's birthday), treated us all to a celebratory drink. The owner put on some great music and danced with my mom. There was laughing and merriment and great art everywhere. It was a wonderful experience that we will talk about for years to come. Visit Ethnix Tribal & African Arts on your next trip to NYC. You will not be disappointed. ~Leslie Green Guilbault
