Understaffed on the weekends. I walked around the store for an hour ready to buy a bike. None of the employees checked in with me, so I walked out.

I haven't bought a bike there, just needed air and they were awesome. So friendly and nice.

I went in here to look at potential "light touring" bicycles and have some questions answered/recommendations on some bikes I had researched online. I like to take 1 longer bike trip per year (3 - 6 weeks on the road) but am by no means well versed on the particulars of trails based on formal names and gravel size...I commute to work and ride on the finished gravel roads that MN has designed for weekend adventurers...I am hoping (reasonably?) that the sales person is able to help fill in the gaps for me about what types of bikes are best for these. Caitilin E. was not helpful. This is putting it lightly. She did not assist me in understanding what bicycles would be useful for me. I tried to explain how I use/what I use my bicycle for and her response was along the lines of "I don't know what you are talking about." She seems annoyed at having to help me at all. My feeling is that if helping people find a bicycle is something that generally annoys you that bike sales is probably not the profession you should be in. My 70 year old father accompanied me and was very excited to look over the bikes as his bicycle was stolen last summer and he hasn't had the opportunity to replace it. This was supposed to be a fun outing for him/us. He made an joke that "you could buy a car for $1500" and chuckled. Caitilin, without even turning to face him while speaking replied in disgust, "Why would you do that? The maintenance, insurance and gas required is way more expensive than a bike." While this is true, the way she replied and the general air of contempt with which she said it, shocked me. She was so rude and my father, feeling embarrassed, wandered away to a corner of the store to look at pretend to look at jackets on sale while I finished my interaction. I was tempted to ask if I had done something to offend her but was more concerned with leaving quickly because it honestly just hurt/angered me that she had been so rude to my father. I wanted to just walk out but seeing as I went out of my way to get recommendations I asked if there was anything she would recommend in my price range. It was honestly one of the less savory sales interactions I had in a long while. I just wanted to get out of there. I ended up bringing my dad to Penn Cycle afterwards because I know that the sales people there are always so helpful and I consistently leave feeling good about humans. I wanted my dad and myself to have a positive experience and true to form, they were helpful and my dad set up a time to test ride a few bikes he was helped on. I was hoping for a decent experience but the interaction was so poor that I don't even want to purchased the recommended bicycle, regardless if it is a good choice, because I don't want to support a business that employs such abrasive staff. It was awful. I may not know everything there is to know about bicycles but I thought that was what the staff was there to help with? Again, if you do not enjoy interacting with people or selling bicycles - don't get into bicycle sales. I would not recommend this location to friends or family. With so many options for where to purchase bicycles in the area, customer experience is so important. Eric's missed the memo on this..which is unfortunate because I'm sure there are qualified employees at this location.
