  I love stores with a history - finding a shop that has been in the same location for 60 years is quite a feat in NYC. Things are way too ephemeral here - with businesses closing left and right due to the high rents. So when I found this shop, it was a very pleasant surprise. Although I was just window shopping, I noticed immediately this shop was above and beyond the norm in upscale designer resale. I went upstairs and was blown away by the huge display of shoes - far more than I have seen elsewhere. You can really get your Imelda on in this shop and buy beautiful, barely worn shoes at far less than other upscale resale stores in NYC. I chatted with an elegant and friendly woman named Doris who told me she has worked there on and off for 60 years. She used to do alterations on the second floor and also told me the history of the place. When the second owner died, her son took over the business. A gorgeous selection of Hermes purses and scarves, Chanel boots, stunning vintage and newer couture, and the most decadent mink Burberry shawl I have ever seen. Retailing for $8,000, the NWT piece was reduced to $4000 - not for everyone, but that is what my daughter called a Wowie when she was little!

  It all depends when you get here. Sometimes a fabulous treasure and sometimes nothing really strikes my fancy, but it's always worth a trip uptown.
