  Unremarkable. Nestled within the lobby of the D.C. Mandarin Oriental, this hotel lobby bar is as rememberable as a room service steward. Do not plan to have drinks on the patio without waiting 20 minutes for the area to be set up during a sunny day. The only saving grace is that the bartender is very entertaining worthy of 5 stars but only upgrades the experience to 2 of 5 overall.

  Afternoon Tea in a bar lounge? Around people with T-shirts, shorts, flip-flops? Infants crawling on stair entrance? Guests storing large pieces of luggage on the stair entrance, while they dine? Employees holding personal conversations on speaker in the ladies room?? Food and Service was superior... atmosphere was horrible... this Afternoon Tea is OVERRATED!!!! Not a good value for the price based on our experience.

  The atmosphere of this place was lovely, but the service just spoiled it. We spent 45 minutes at a table with the waiter coming over twice...once to hand us menus and once to ask if we were ready to order. I said yes, but he just turned around and started wandering away. We left after that not wanting to spend our money on overpriced drinks that I wasn't sure we'd actually ever get even if I ended up having to write down what I wanted myself.
