::My boyfriend lives there and he put me down for and put me down for an overnight. An overnight, for those who do not know, is part of the Visitor Policy...Which most SRO (single room occupancy) abide by. Each hotel, at the management's discretion,is awardedso many nights where the tenant might have overnight guests. The Elm, from what I am told is allowed 20 overnights. I have also been told that a lot of the rooms there have their own bathroom...But his particular room does not. It is a decent size room though with fire escape access. And he is situated directly next to the bathrooms. The Elm is part of ECS--Episcopalian Charity Services. Most of the tenants there were at one point homeless. ECS has taken over the lease on a lot of SRO's that were crummy and revamped them. The rent is that of low income housing. There are case managers on site, which every tenant is assigned to one of these. They help you get ingrained back into society...They will help you with almost everything...Getting rid of your hoapital bills, your warrants, schedule Doctir's appointments for you and even accompany you to your appointment. They also host a Community Meeting where all the tenants collect and discuss what is going on un the building while feeding you some sumptous meal...And a raffle...They also have a weekly Food Bank where you can get free groceries...And free tickets to stuff like Alcatraz and Giants games. A person cannot just walk in off the street and request an application. You must be housed here by the H.O.T. (Homeless Outreach Team), through a shelter or through the Navigation Center.

::Have Lived here for 3 months now, good place, just some people are very dirty, but if you keep your spot clean and caulk all holes. You will be fine.. Will only get bugs if you don't clean..
