::Tasty Tex-Mex food, funky decor, old western films silently cast above our head, and a quality bar made this trip to El Real delightful. We had a large party, and the service was attentive. This is chef-driven food with quality ingredients, so be prepared for a higher tab than a neighborhood mom and pop tacqueria. Tonight was worth the price.

::New review (2 star): portion sizes continue to decrease as prices increase. Charging for extra tortillas? No. Not acceptable. I have decided to stop trying with this place. Too inconsistent. New review (4 star): food quantity was much better tonight. Still tired of being harassed by valet. New review (3 star): so I have been going here consistently now... a few things I'm not happy about: stop upselling me on drinks that are over twice as much as what I ordered, stop forcing me to use valet parking (if you are worried about people using your parking lot get an attendant), and I noticed the portion sizes have gone down recently. Original review (5 star): Amazing fajitas for a reasonable price. $1.50 mimosas on Sunday morning. Cheaper and better than most competitors. Ample parking.

::This is our go-to Friday lunch place, and we try to convince folks at the office to go here for group lunches and dinners. For lunch, I get the same thing every time (lunch enchiladas #7), and they do it well, so I can't speak to how the rest of the food might be, but my best friend loves what he gets. The service can be hit or miss - never truly bad, but some wait staff stands out over others (more attentive, friendlier, etc.). We've had some longer waits with larger groups, like the waiter/waitress leaving us too long to think about our selections. Otherwise, the food comes out quick and tasty, and is priced right for what you get.

::This used to be the place to go for Tex-mex. Two years ago, it was great food, great service. The place we would take out of town guests. Went there today for lunch and it wasn’t good. Had the puffy tacos and they make it San Antonio style. So it’s supposed to be a little flexible and chewy - not a hard crunchy shell. This shell was oily tasting as if they hadn’t heated it high enough before dropping in the tortilla. And the chicken filling was dry like it was last weeks leftovers. The margaritas are still some of the better ones we’ve had in Houston. So that was good to see.

::This is comfort food done right. Nice ambiance for happy hour, or some comfort food. I bring out of town guest here often. I love that they are only too happy to make the avocado enchiladas vegan. If that’s too much excellent salads any of which you can add avocado too. Service is great plenty of parking, with complimentary valet in the peak hours. I can easily recommend this restaurant
