I have always loved visiting this museum. It's always been a pleasant experience even with the content it contains. It's very informative and it makes you feel so close to those who experienced such horror. You go on a nice tour that shows you the clothes they wore, the rail cars they rode in, the houses and ghettos they lived in. You also see uniforms the Nazis wore and weapons they used. The Holocaust museum in El Paso has always been on my favorites list. This last time I visited though, we went with a small group of children, maybe about 10 kids and their parents. The tour guide wasn't at all great with children. I'm sure she doesn't have kids of her own being how she acted with those in our group. She rolled her eyes a lot at them, and she seemed very annoyed by all their questions. I wish we had a different tour guide this time. She didn't make it as well as it could have been. There was so much potential and so many times that she could have planted a seed in their minds but instead she chose to get frustrated and missed so many opportunities. Afterward, the kids didn't seem to mind her attitude and they kept talking about what they saw and heard and they still had so many questions. I took that opportunity to explain it all a little better for mine on our drive home. We'll be going back for sure, but next time I'll be sure to ask for another tour guide in case we get her again.

Great place to visit and look back on true history. The museum was very informative and wonderful displays of the Holocaust. It was Free and they do except donations and they have parking and a store inside to purchase items and books. Very friendly staff and quiet environment to reflect on everything you watch, see and read.

A quite museum tucked away downtown. It’s free and offers such a vivid account of the Nazi regime and life in concentration camps. They have many artifacts and displays that are both heartbreaking and very intriguing. It is a self guided tour, however there is a sweet staff member that is very happy to share stories and offer historical context. At the end the museum patrons are allowed to pay respects by placing a stone on a memorial. I highly recommend a visit. While I have no complaints, I would say that the gift shop is slightly spiritless. Overall though, a great experience.

The museum is very nice! Since it is self-guided, each station is set up in a way that you can visualize what happened. There are TV's available with a short video throughout the tour, which explain everything from the beginning to the end. In my opinion the videos are not spaced out enough. You have 2 short minutes between each station to look at everything before the video started playing in the next station. What my family and I did was waited for the video to replay before continuing. **Some images shown are not appropriate for small children.** My only complaint was with the security officer on duty at the time of our visit. We were in the last exhibit and had roughly 8 minutes before closing, well as soon as the video ended he rushed us out! We did not have time to look at everything, I tried snapping pictures so I can read/see the information that was posted. We could have easily finish the tour before closing time. We live 18 hours away we will not be able to visit the museum ever again, I wish he would have allowed us to finish. And for this reason alone is why I gave a rating of 3 instead of 5 stars.
