::I was initially so happy to see a Health Food Store back in Hyde Park but sadly I will never go there again. Their facebook page says: "Your local, friendly, alternative, community-minded health food store since 1977!" Don't bother patronizing if you are looking for friendly and knowledgeable service . This owner is rude, and not friendly at all. I asked a simple question about expansion and he was really rude. There was no need for the rude responses. They need practice/training at customer service. Now, the reason I asked about expansion was I was hopeful. I realize it takes time, and that is all the owner would have had to say. There is hardly anything in the store. There is no one there that knows anything about any of the products they do have. Just go to Mother Earths on Rt 9 if you need Health Food Products. At least at Mother Earth, the workers are educated and really very helpful and nice. I spent 60 bucks in this store, and after that I was treated like crap. I would never go there again, and suggest everyone to skip this store. Also, they left New Paltz, and I don't wonder why now!! IF they could not make it in New Paltz, they will never make it in Hyde Park. They are Rude!!

::I loved my experience, and it taught me much about life.... I'm the guy who left a one-star review a couple of months ago, and that wasn't fair. Here's the story: An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. I had an unusual encounter with someone at Earthgoods, true. I wasn't happy with the customer service -- But even the best of us have "off" days all the time. It wasn't fair for me to go and write a scathing review about this place just because of one sub-par experience. I'm sure Earthgoods serves a very good role in the community of New Paltz. Now whenever I drive by Earthgoods, I am reminded of my own sin. That I should really get to know somebody, or something, before making a judgement on it's value or worthiness or decency. I will forever have this reminder so long as I live in the Hudson Valley, and really I believe this lesson will stick with me through life. We are so quick to jump on the internet, and in the veil of anonymity we seek to destroy people and bring them down. And we wonder why we can't sleep at night. We need to search our hearts, truthfully, and learn to be patient, loving, forgiving, and gentle. I am very sorry for my actions. I could have handled this in a more productive way... and I ask for your forgiveness, Earthgoods. And for anybody who's thinking about shopping at this establishment, I say GO FOR IT! And while shopping, realize that we're all human, we all make mistakes, and we all have to look in the mirror at the end of the day. I want to be a man who can look myself square in the eyes and say "you did all you could to be just, loving and fruitful." And I want to hear my God tell me "well done my good and faithful servant." This is what I hope for. I don't know if anyone will ever read this, but if you do, let it serve as a lesson that has weighed heavy on my heart for the past two months. Let my hard-lesson-learned help you to not make the same stupid mistake. Love your neighbor as thyself... and realize, we're ALL neighbors in this tiny little world. You'll sleep much, much better. I look forward to shopping again at Earthgoods.
