::Had a fantastic first experience here the other day with instructor Sandy. Went ahead and signed up for their 30-for-$30 special for newbies. Let's see how it goes...

::Heated-flow, power yoga to strengthen your core, mind & body.

::Used to love, for years! Not so much now. New gtown studio has low ceilings, street level windows where there is tons of foot traffic & men looking at your down dog rear view. Some great teachers no longer there. Others with HUGE egos and call people out (humiliate) if they leave (in desperate) need of bathroom use pre-shavasana. Ouch.

::I'm not a regular yoga person, but every once in a while I like to catch a hot yoga session. Never at the same place. Sometimes I get a good studio and sometimes I get a not-so-good studio. Down Dog Power Yoga with instructor Derek was great. I would recommend this place to anyone - from dabbler to advanced.

::It's hot & humid power yoga in close proximity to others. Yes. Now, once you settle in with that concept physically and mentally (and it could take a few visits), this practice will break you open in beautiful ways, if you let it. 18+ months coming here, and not only have I gotten STRONGER and healthier, but the practice paired with the teachers, assistants and community has really helped me mature through some very difficult areas in life. If you do the work and let the practice and people in, you will transform. You will also build family here. It's actually inevitable. But you have to give it and you have to receive it. You are ready right now! Dive in fully. We can't wait to practice with you! It's OK if you kick me, btw. I actually appreciate the jolt, which takes me out of my head. So don't worry about getting it right. Fall, fart, laugh, cry, breathe.
